After proudly serving twenty years with the New York City Police Department, Margarette is embracing her lifelong dream of working in the film, television, and performing arts industry.
From an early age, she was drawn to the magic of storytelling—the way a performance can spark laughter, bring comfort, or shine a light on the human condition.
Her stage journey began when her grandmother introduced her to dance. She went on to train at the Harlem School of the Arts, the National Dance Institute, and the LaGuardia School of Performing Arts.
Her inspiring journey from the stage to the streets—and back again—was captured in the NYPD short film From Ballet Shoes to Police Boots. The film was an Official Selection of the 2017 Big Apple Film Festival.
A true believer that it is never too late to rewrite your narrative, Margarette is also the author of her memoir, Running from Yesterday, which she later adapted into a musical alongside adult dancers from Tampa City Ballet.
Today, she steps into every creative role and speaking engagement with the same heart, resilience, and passion that have always defined her.
Nothing, it turns out, is ever lost.
